The short version: your tank data never leaves your device in the free tier. We store nothing about your readings, corals, or tank history on any server. The logbook is client-side only.
ReefDeck ("we," "us," "our") is a reef tank logbook product. Contact: [email protected].
Logbook data (Free tier): None. Your tank data — water parameters, coral inventory, journal entries, thresholds — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your own device. We do not transmit, collect, process, or have access to any of this data.
Email address (optional): If you sign up for the Pro waitlist or newsletter, we collect your email address via a third-party form provider (currently Formspree or ConvertKit). We use this only to notify you about ReefDeck Pro availability and significant product updates. We do not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
Stripe checkout (future Pro tier): If you subscribe to ReefDeck Pro, payment is handled by Stripe, Inc. We receive a customer ID and subscription status from Stripe but never see or store your full payment card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs their data handling.
Web analytics (if any): We may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (such as Plausible or Fathom) that do not track individuals or use cookies. No personal data is collected through analytics. If analytics are active, it will be noted here with the specific service used.
Your logbook data is stored using the Web Storage API (localStorage) built into your browser. This data:
ReefDeck does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use a strictly necessary session cookie if/when Pro accounts are implemented (for authentication only). No third-party tracking cookies are set by ReefDeck itself.

We do not integrate with Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any behavioral advertising platforms.
ReefDeck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
ReefDeck is operated from the Netherlands. If you are located in the EU/EEA, your rights under the GDPR apply. Because we hold no personal tank data (it lives on your device), the practical scope of GDPR obligations for the logbook itself is minimal. For email subscribers: you can request deletion at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

Because we hold no logbook data on our servers, a server breach would not expose your tank records. If a breach of our email list or payment records occurs, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
We may update this privacy policy. Significant changes will be communicated to email subscribers. The effective date at the top reflects the current version.
